UK swimming pool cover specialists Aquamat have supplied an energy saving pool cover to Brean Leisure Water Park's new indoor complex in Somerset.
The venue will be taking part in the BBC's Big Splash promotion designed to get more people swimming in 2011.
Brean Leisure has installed a six lane heated 25m swimming pool with a constant 1.2m metre depth, and a children’s indoor splash park area with shooting jets as part of its £1.6m investment in new facilities.
Aquamat designed, manufactured and installed the new 25m x 13m heat retention pool cover.
The 6mm thick covers are made from heavy duty closed cell polyethylene foam, said to make them particularly suitable for use on school or commercial pools and spas as they can save up to 60 per cent on fuel bills due to the reduction in heat loss from the surface of the pool.
Aquamat's 6mm covers are all supplied with heat welded seams on the top and bottom for added strength.
Aquamat designed a special commercial electric bench reel system especially for the project. The rolling tube is fitted with a 24v DC motor, which will help reduce running costs and provide additional safety.
